We will be sewing the Wiksten Shift Dress, this pattern is a great place to begin your sewing journey. It looks great on a variety of body shapes and sizes and is very accessible for anyone with basic sewing skills. Over the course of two days we will learn about sizing, cutting out patterns, making basic adjustments, cutting fabric as well as sewing the garment. Students will likely have their garment completed by the end of the second day.

Hello Sewists!
We will begin our two day journey into garment sewing with a field trip to our local fabric shop to learn more about choosing the right fabric for our project. Here, students may purchase fabric if they haven't already done so. (Options are varied but limited to what is in store.)
After we return to the studio we will determine our measurements, discuss choosing the right size and start working with our fabric. By the end of day two, you will likely have a completed garment.
