Greetings, traveller!
Grab your synthesizer, load up on health potions, and enter the dungeon! Join us at the Glasgow Library of Synthesized Sorcery for the inaugural DUNGEON SYNTH SESSION! Dress to quest, roll thy dice, and summon forth sonic wizardry!
Dungeon synth is a style of electronic music rooted in the worlds of dark ambient, black metal, fantasy, and soundtracks. The genre covers many different sounds, including analogue synthesis, neoclassical, lo-fi, new age, drone, sampling, and many more.
Who is it for?
This session is for anyone who wants to make some dungeon synth! Some level of musical or technical knowledge will help, but isn't essential. Making your first sounds and entering the world of synthesis is equally as valid as honing your high level masterpiece! There are no requirements to produce or finish anything, just come along and be a part of the community.
How does it work?
This is a choose your own adventure session - you can work on specific things, or just explore what some of the gear can do. There's no pressure to finish or present anything. There will be a GLOSS librarian on hand to help with any equipment questions, troubleshooting, or spellcasting, and there will be guidance available from Mountainfog for concepts, inspiration, and melee combat.
Mountainfog is a dungeon synth artist from Glasgow, active since 2018. A fixture in the Glasgow underground scene, over the last couple of years they have been working to develop dungeon synth in Scotland through putting on and playing shows with touring international artists and new local projects alike. Latest release "Flood Of Dreams" available now on Blaggard Records.
