Writing Programme
1 x full-day + 5 x half-day sessions + gap tasks
Aimed at: Teachers and Leaders of writing at KS1 and KS2
The Revised Assessment Framework rightly places increased emphasis on the purpose and effect of children’s writing. There are now higher expectations that pupils will be able to independently apply their writing skills and develop a deeper understanding of the impact of their choices. The Beechwood Teaching School Alliance Writing Programme provides guidance to teachers and English Leaders on how to place purpose and effect at the centre of their writing provision, taking a hands-on look at every stage of the writing process. It is aimed at teachers and leaders alike, whether they are seeking to improve the impact of their own teaching or across an entire school. The core message is simple: if pupils are purposefully engaged and enjoying their writing then the quality of their outcomes will improve.
NB: the course will have a research component: delegates will trial and report on some aspect of their provision through a range of gap tasks
