Calling all animal-loving adventurers! (ages 5-12yrs)
Come join us at Little Acorns Farm for our hands-on weekly activity group where you'll meet the cutest, cuddliest, curious and most definitely cheekiest goats, chickens honey bees and soon.. ducks!
Each week, the young farmers will roll up their sleeves and get stuck into real small-scale farm life:
Plus- earn a 'Farm Friends' Badge at the end of term as you learn about each of our animals!
Small group size (max 8) means spaces are limited.
Run by experienced and trained outdoor leaders and members of the PVG Scheme, fully insured and risk-assessed with thorough animal biosecurity in place.
Please note that we are unable to provide 1:1 supervision for children with additional support needs. Attending children must be able to follow basic safety instructions such as keeping in boundaries, safe tool use with guidance and supervision and road safety. If you need to remain at sessions to support your child please get in touch to discuss further.
WHAT WILL MY CHILD NEED TO BRING / WEAR?
- A drinking bottle
- A small snack
- Suitable outdoor clothing - wellies, full waterproofs, and thermal layers, hats and gloves in cold weather; sun hats in warm weather.
You may choose to bring spare clothes or a change of footwear for the car journey home - getting wet and muddy is likely!
*clean drinking water is available on site.
WEATHER
Our holistic learning ethos is all about play outdoors no matter the weather. There is no such thing as bad weather as the saying goes... We have plenty of shelters available, as well as a yurt and any that the children choose to build!
However, there are certain weather conditions that will affect the running of the group where deemed unsafe- namely high winds (above 40mph), electrical storms and severe snow and ice.
The staff will stay informed of the weather conditions. We will always try to give 24 hours notice of closure, however we may need to cancel on the day if weather changes suddenly / overnight. We will inform parents by text and email. In the case of cancellation we aim to reschedule the session.
