Dynamic Floor are advanced level floor work classes aiming to develop fluidity and movement rhythms. We will work on the coordination and physicality of movements to understand how to organise our bodies in order to enter and exit the floor. We will use our weight and momentum to move in an efficient-effortless way without disrupting the flow of movement.
What level?
Advanced class aimed at experience dancers. Intermediate dancers are welcome if you like a challenge!
Who's it with?
Mara Osorio is an interdisciplinary artist/mover from Chile based in Leeds. She recently graduated from Northern School of Contemporary Dance with a Dance BA (HONS) in Contemporary Dance. At the same time, to complement her studies she took part in a 6-months online teaching mentorship programme with Alleyne Dance Company. Mara is a curious person, amazed by the simplicity and joy of everyday details. Her practice is based on playfulness and physicality. Through a playful approach, she interacts with others researching the physicality of movements to find grounding, connections, and dynamics while interacting with other people.
Comfy clothes that preferably cover your knees and shoulders. No shoes on the dance floor so make sure you bring socks if you are not comfortable barefoot.
