Take your knowledge and skill of handmade brooms even farther! This course moves beyond an introduction to broom making and concentrates on full size kitchen Shaker brooms. Students will craft broom using broom tying tables and original 1880’s Shaker broom clamps. Turkey brooms, processing broom corn, and crafting a table kick machine will also be discussed. By the end of class, student will leave with at lest one full size usable kitchen broom, possibly two or three. Handmade brooms make a wonderful holiday gift.
