What to bring? Please bring lots of wipes, nappies, a flannel/ wash cloth, nappy bags, a towel and some nice warm clothes to put on afterwards. You may want to consider spare clothing for yourself as well, although we do provide free disposable aprons for adults. Please take nappies home with you, most of our venues do not have nappy disposal bins.
What to wear? our only request is, your child remove their shoes and children stay in clean nappies (please do not put your child in swim nappies). Everything else is down to personal preference. Some children only wear nappies and some children wear puddle suits! The more they wear the easier the clean up, the less they wear the more they’ll get to experience all the wonderful textures!
Health & Safety. Doors will open a few minutes before the start of the event. We cannot allow access to the event before this time due to health and safety reasons. Due to the nature of the activity, floors and equipment can become slippery so please take extra care when moving between stations. If your child can walk we recommend holding your child's hand when they are standing or walking to avoid slips. All messy play food is entirely edible but there is no expectation that your child consume the messy play food. It is done so at the discretion and risk of the parent/ guardian. If you choose to allow your child to consume food please minimise the risk of choking by ensuring your child sits upright and supervise them closely. Please note that adults are responsible for their children at all times.
How do we get them clean? Towards the end of a session, the water stations will be taken away and replaced with the children’s cleaning station- bowls of warm soapy water. If you would like to make use of the children’s cleaning station please do so before the end of the session. At the end of the session all children need to vacate the stations, including the cleaning stations as we will start the process of cleaning up as soon as the session finishes. If your little one is muckier than expected or they suddenly need a nappy change, a feed etc, and you’re not ready to leave, please don’t worry. As long as you stay at the side and don’t mind us cleaning up around you it’s really not a problem.
