Time in the Trees - Family Session

Detaljer

Spend quality time together in the great outdoors.

Time in the Trees is a flexible, nature-based wellbeing programme for carers in North Lanarkshire, designed around one simple principle - carer choice.

We know that every caring situation is different, so these family sessions offer the opportunity for carers, cared-for people and their families to spend meaningful time together in nature, in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Whether you're looking to strengthen family relationships, enjoy quality time outdoors or simply try something new together, our woodland sessions provide a supportive space where everyone can take part in a way that feels right for them. Carers are also welcome to attend these sessions on their own if they wish.

Our experienced practitioners deliver inclusive sessions that encourage exploration, creativity and connection with nature. Activities vary throughout the year and may include:

  • Woodland crafts
  • Campfires and outdoor cooking
  • Nature exploration
  • Den building
  • Bushcraft and tool use
  • Nature connection and mindfulness
  • Seasonal activities
  • Swings, hammocks and plenty of opportunities for play, relaxation and conversation

There is no expectation to participate in every activity - you're free to engage at your own pace and enjoy the woodland in whatever way suits you.

Who can attend?
These sessions are open to carers, cared-for people and their families of all ages. Children must attend with a responsible adult.

Thanks to funding from North Lanarkshire Carers Together, these sessions are completely free to attend.

What to bring:
Please wear clothing suitable for the weather, including waterproofs where appropriate, and sturdy footwear such as wellies or walking boots if the ground is muddy. We also recommend bringing a drink, and you're welcome to bring a camping chair if you prefer.

Weather:
We embrace the changing seasons and sessions will run in most weather conditions. We will only cancel if conditions are unsafe. If this happens, we'll contact everyone who has booked as soon as possible.

Places are limited so booking is essential. Please complete the booking form. Please note only one ticket is required per family, not per person attending.

Please note OutLET staff are there to facilitate the session. Adults attending will remain fully responsible for any children they bring along

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

In these difficult times it's important to us that all our programmes are either FREE at the point of use, or as affordable as they can be, so that families who are in financial hardship are still able to benefit from these sessions.

We are grateful to have received funding to support this programme. However, funding is limited - and we can only continue to run until the funding ends out so we need your help!

If you can, please do 'Play it Forward' and continue supporting the mental health and well-being of all the children and their families in our community.
