This Library Card Ticket covers access to all the presentations during Libraries Week in St Davids Cathedral 2025 between Monday 6th October and Friday 10th October.
Purchasers of this "Library Card" will also receive an information pack of materials from the Cathedral Library, copies of presentations at previous Library events and a pre-arranged visit to the Cathedral Library at a time of their choosing. There will also be discounts on a specific list of books.
The schedule of events for Libraries Week is:
MONDAY 6th OCTOBER - 2pm - Talk in Library. "The Saints of Wales: Dewi, Caradog, Illtud and more" by Canon Rhiannon Johnson.
MONDAY 6th OCTOBER - 2pm- 4pm - Cathedral Library open to the public
TUESDAY 7th OCTOBER – 11am Tour, led by Bishop Wyn Evans, of parts of Cathedral restored under Bishop Connop Thirlwall in 1860s, starting under Bishop Thirlwall’s statue outside west end of Cathedral (weather permitting). WEDNESDAY 8th OCTOBER – 2pm Walk & Talk Tour of exhibition of “1925 Apel Heddwch / Peace Appeal from Wales to the USA”. Original Gregynog letter on display with signatures of Bishop of St Davids & 20 others from churches & chapels of Wales. Supported by CYTUN.
THURSDAY 9th OCTOBER – 2pm “1588. A Bible in Welsh and what happened next” – Talk and panel discussion on joint research findings by St Davids Cathedral Library and Westminster Abbey Library on the copy of the William Morgan Bible of 1588. On purchasing a Library Card, you will receive a physical ticket in the Information Pack in your name. This will be available for collection from Monday morning 6th October in the Library or north transept.
These Library Cards are only available for purchase prior to the start of Libraries Week and during the first day, Monday 6th October.
