HAF: Sew Your Own Gym Bag (Street Dance Inspired): 9-14 years

PLEASE NOTE: This project is part of the Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) Programme, for young people in Kensington & Chelsea who are eligible for Free School Meals.*

Get ready to sew and create your very own street dance bag in this exciting 4-day workshop! You will learn the basics of sewing while making a custom street dance bag you can wear and show off. With step-by-step guidance from our skilled instructors, young creators will develop confidence in their sewing skills while expressing their own unique style!

Learn how to use sewing machines, cut fabric, and sew. Personalise your bag with sequins, vinyl, embroidery, or cool patches to make it your own! This hands-on workshop is designed to keep children entertained, engaged, and inspired throughout the entire experience.

You will leave with a street dance-inspired gym bag that’s perfect for both dancing and casual wear. A step-by-step workshop suitable for beginners to sewing and those who've been before.

Skills you will learn:
Machine and hand sewing
Pinning, measuring and cutting
Sewing patch pockets
Attaching straps
Decoration
Adding vinyl and using a heat press
Accuracy and construction
