Price: £250 DSSP/Arena Members/£350 for Non Members

Includes a mini starter kit for Teaching Outdoor Learning!

Who is the course aimed at?
The course is a 2 Day accredited course for teachers and teaching assistants.

Requirements
Teaching assistants should hold a level 3 qualification.

What will I do on the course?
You will complete 3 units of exploration as a result of attending the course, these will be;

Getting Started
How do you set up an outdoor learning classroom at your school? We will deliver practical and theory sessions on; health and safety, site development and linking outdoor learning across a range of curriculum subjects.

Practical Skills
On a range of areas including; Fire lighting, using and maintaining tools, shelter building and cooking outdoors.

Learning and exploration
This unit will develop your knowledge and understanding of the environment, the importance of seasonal changes and will provide you with resources to support you in the development of outdoor learning

What will I need to take part on the course?
You will need waterproof clothing, appropriate footwear, hat and gloves and plenty of layers! - If cold!!
Lunch will be provided

Will I be assessed?
You will be given the opportunity to have an onsite assessment at your school. Please note this is optional

By attending this course you will be given units of exploration SOW (schemes of work) in a variety of subject areas to take back to your school.
