Thinking about GCSE Art & Design for your home-educated student? Come along to an information session to meet me, hear how the course works, and ask all your questions before you decide.
Choosing a GCSE is a big commitment of time and money, so this session is designed to give you the full picture first. I’ll cover:
How my GCSE Art & Design course runs, week by week
The time commitment, in class and at home
How coursework and the exam work, and how home-educated students enter as private candidates through an approved exam centre
The costs, including class fees and exam entry
Who the course suits, and what skills students need to start
I’ll bring examples of student work so you can see the standard and the kind of projects involved, and there will be plenty of time for questions.
I’m an experienced art teacher with 26 years of classroom experience, and an approved tutor with Tutors & Exams.
Who should come: parents and carers, and students who are thinking of taking GCSE Art. Under-18s need to come with a parent or carer. No obligation to sign up afterwards. Please book a place so I know how many to expect.
Arriving: the session starts at 2.30pm. Please arrive about five minutes early and come to the Hub on the 1st Floor at The Horsebridge Centre.
Who can attend: parents, carers and students are all welcome.
Please bring any questions you’d like answered, and your student’s recent art work or sketchbook if you’d like me to see it. This is optional.
Accessibility: if you or your student have any access needs, tell me beforehand and I’ll make arrangements.
If you can’t come: please let me know by email nicky@arthouse26.com, so I can offer your place to someone else.
