If you feel intimidated by outerwear, this is the place to start! Using the Heather Blazer pattern by Friday Pattern Company, Jana will teach you how to assemble this modern blazer that you’ll want to wear year round. This stylish jacket has a slightly oversized fit and features patch pockets, a notch lapel, and full lining.
You must feel comfortable operating a sewing machine and have some basic experience with using a garment pattern for this class. If you need instruction tracing a pattern or on machine sewing skills, we can schedule a one-on-one lesson ahead of time to get you up to speed. Fabric Requirements (Exact yardage will depend on size; instructor will contact to confirm amounts):
-2 ½ - 3 ⅔ yds Main Fabric: Any woven fabric with a bit of weight to it is great: Linen, suiting, twill, denim, canvas. Avoid fabrics that can't take a press, since there is a fair amount of fusible interfacing involved in this project. Pre-wash and press.
-1 ⅞ - 3 yds Lining Fabric: Typically you want to line your jackets with something that will easily slide on and off over other fabrics. Anything a little bit slippery would work. Rayon, silk, or cotton with a tight weave. Pre-wash and press.
-Shape Flex Woven Interfacing: 1 - 1 ½ yds
-Knit Tricot Interfacing: 1 - 1 ⅛ yds

Other Supplies:
-Pattern is included. Your paper pattern size should be cut out prior to class. (Recommended: trace the pattern before cutting out your size. Refer above if you need assistance with this step.)
-One ¾” - 1" size button (optional)
-Coordinating all-purpose thread
-Removable marking pen
-Small scissors or snips
-Pins or clips
-Point Turner
-Fabric scissors or rotary cutter, mat, and pattern weights
-Hand sewing needle

CLASS POLICIES
o Your spot will not be reserved in the class until payment is made in full.
o All students or their Parents/Guardians must sign a waiver before participating in class activities. This should be provided as a check box in your checkout process.
o This class has a 4 person minimum. Class may be cancelled if minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class.
o Beehive Craft Studio reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
If we do so, you'll be issued a full refund.
o Inclement Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that weather would make traveling to class dangerous. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o Mask Policy: All students are strongly encouraged to wear masks during workshop time if there is a student or teacher requesting masks.

o No refunds for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of workshop. Refunds will be processed online within 48 hours of cancellation with the funds going back to your method of payment.
o Everyone works at different speeds and while we expect everyone to finish by the end of the workshop we can't guarantee it!
