5 x week taster course: Thursdays, 6pm - 9pm, 22nd October - 19th November

For beginners: These classes provide an insight into the possibilities of working with clay. Weeks 1-4 you will be introduced to different techniques such as hand building, throwing and decorating through demonstrations and plenty of hands on exercises. Week 5 you will be taken through the glazing process and glaze the work you have made.

These sessions will be held in the class area of The Kiln Rooms where we like to create a comfortable, fun environment for everyone to enjoy. No need to bring anything with you as we’ll provide all materials, tools, aprons and equipment needed.

A 5 week taster course costs £240 per person and this includes all materials and firings, meaning that there are no additional costs.

This course will take place between 6pm - 9pm on Thursdays at our Islington studio.

This course will be led by James. James discovered a passion for pottery during a weekend class and was instantly hooked. Drawing on his experience teaching photography at a homeless charity, he emphasizes the therapeutic power of art. The same healing self-expression carries into his ceramic work.

In the event of illness or annual leave, one of our other experienced teachers would lead the session in his place.

If you miss a class or arrive late, we are unable to reschedule sessions or provide alternative studio time, as courses run at fixed times to cover the cost of tuition. If you are unable to attend the final week of the taster course (glazing week) we will glaze your work in transparent glaze for you.

Refunds:

Cancellations made 20 days or more before the start date receive a full refund (minus a £5 booking fee). Between 20 and 10 days before the start date, 50% of fees will be refunded (minus booking fee). No refunds are available within 9 days of the start date or once the course has begun.
