Runswick Bay - In Search of Sea Dragons with The Rock Showman

This is a 2 hour tour starting from the Cafe near the Beach in the heart of the picturesque seaside village of Runswick Bay, North Yorkshire.

The tour leaves from the Cafe at the advertised start time so please come about 15 minutes before.

Before we reach the beach there is a short presentation explaining the safety side of fossil collecting and showing you the different fossils that we may find during our tour.

Once you are primed with this knowledge it is time to start looking through the pebbles on the beach as we travel south towards Kettleness point in the distance. Our tour guide is on hand to identify your finds and if your pebble needs splitting open to reveal the fossil inside.

We travel along the sandy pebble strewn beach that has recently been voted the best beaches in Britain. Along the way our Tour guide will point out geological features.

At the far end of the sandy beach there is a chance to hunt for Whitby Jet. Our tour guide will teach you how to hunt for this Jurassic gem which is found in amongst the Seaweed and rock pools.

The tour finishes on the beach after 2 hours.
