Beginner Watercolour & Acrylic Painting Sessions – Kirkstall Valley Farm
Unwind, get creative, and learn new skills in the beautiful surroundings of Kirkstall Valley Farm.
These relaxed, small-group sessions are perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking to build confidence with painting. You’ll be guided step-by-step through a range of techniques in both watercolour and acrylic, in a friendly and supportive environment.
Each week, you’ll create your own artwork inspired by nature, with gentle instruction to help you develop skills at your own pace. Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or returning to creativity after a break, this is a welcoming space to explore and enjoy.

Level: Beginner
Access - You access the farm by turning off the A65 at Ready Steady Store. You will see a path down to the river which leads to the farm entrance.
Parking - THERE IS NO PARKING at the farm or in the Ready, Steady Store carpark. If possible, please walk to the farm. If you need to drive, you will find free parking on the streets on the opposite side of the A65. If you or someone in your party has a disability, please contact kirsty.ward@kvdt.org.uk and we can discuss access arrangements for you.
On-site
Kirkstall Valley Farm is a working farm with uneven ground and often windy weather. Please come dressed in appropriate clothing and footwear. There is a 5 minute walk across the farm to where our activities are set up.
There is currently no baby changing facilities at the farm so please bring a change mat.
Drinking water is available but we ask that you bring your own water bottles and snacks.
