Age 6-12
In this Summer holiday workshop students will learn how important sketchbooks are for planning, documenting and observing ideas in art. We will discuss how artists use sketchbooks to inform their practice. We will then use Japanese bookbinding techniques to make mini sketchbooks in the workshop space which we will take with us to Norwood park. In the park we will experiment with a range of drawing, collecting and recording techniques to fill their mini book before returning to the workshop space to share the work and complete the books to take home.
Please bring a packed lunch and morning snack (NO NUTS) and a water bottle.
We will have a picnic lunch in Norwood Park and play some games to break up the activities. If the weather is bad on the day we may have to re-plan some of the activities to work more in the workshop. We would advise wearing sunscreen and bringing a hat if the forecast is hot and a waterproof coat if it looks like rain.
