Join us for a free taster CPD session for Primary School teachers interested in working with dance in or out of the classroom.
Please note this session is specifically for teachers and TAs / support workers currently working in Primary Education, within Southwark or one of the surrounding boroughs (e.g. Lambeth, Lewisham, Wandsworth, Bromley, Croydon).
Our Continued Professional Development workshops and courses give teachers a practical understanding of how to integrate dance and choreography into everyday curriculum teaching. Sessions develop confidence in incorporating dance and creativity across subjects, supporting active and embodied learning in the classroom.
Teachers will gain new skills to plan and facilitate inclusive dance sessions that advance students’ dance and choreographic skills, nurture curiosity & creativity — unlocking new ways to teach and inspire. We share our accessible methodology that can be applied to all contexts. Resource packs and lesson planning documents are included.
In this taster session we will cover EYFS, Ks1 & Ks2 content. Arrivals are from 4:30pm-5pm where there will also be some light snacks and social time to meet and chat with other teachers from in and around Southwark and beyond. The main session takes place between 5pm-6:30pm.

What to bring
This is a practical session so we recommend you wear loose clothing that you can move easily in and bring a water bottle.

Siobhan Davies Studios is mostly accessible to wheelchair users, with lifts to all floors. Our main door is power assisted. There are two accessible parking spaces available on site which can be booked in advance.
Please note that our disabled toilets may not be suitable for all users (the toilets in our disabled toilets are 42cm high) and our changing facilities and showers are not fully accessible. Our closest publicly available and fully accessible changing facility is at The Castle Centre, a leisure centre 0.3 miles away from the studios. You can find full details of their features here.
