Publishing Your Book and Writing a Query Letter

This course will meet online on Wednesday, June 14th from 6:30-8:30pm

If trying to publish a book is like applying for a job, then writing a query letter is like writing a cover letter. It can be a deciding factor in making it to the next stage. In this two-hour class, writers of fiction and nonfiction alike will learn exactly what goes into a query letter. We’ll learn about mistakes to avoid and details that make letters sparkle.

We'll also talk about publishing in a larger context, including editors, agents, advances, and royalties. Most importantly, we'll talk about how we can take advantage of the publication process to make ourselves more confident writers. Writers of all experience levels are welcome.
