Engineers understand how mechanical and control systems work and then interact with them to configure them for various purposes such as interactive toys and gadgets.
This course is an ideal support for GCSE D&T Science and a precursor to Motorheads or for supporting STEM.
We undertake challenges using Workshop tools and machinery, materials processes, electric motors, electronics and control systems which convert one motion into another and to transfer power and control from one place to another. A practical application for this is vehicles /buggies /robots of various kinds, but not exclusively.
Engineers create functioning products. CAD CAM is largely used to make and customise products.
You will learn:
We also have various internal combustion engines to disassemble and reassemble using workshop tools and some of these will be expected to work afterwards! The course is a logical precursor to Motorheads but not necessarily. There is plenty of challenge in designing and engineering small products for a particular purpose.
These courses are for Elective Home Educators. If you are looking for EOTAS/WASP provision please get in touch to discuss options. Thanks
