Turning Earth Leyton
Teacher: Linda Barck
A weekend taster on the wheel, right here in London, in the Learning Hub in our Leyton studio. If you've always wanted to try it, this is your chance to spend a quiet, focused weekend at the potter's wheel, then come back the following Sunday to glaze what you've made.
This class covers throwing techniques only.
No experience needed, aimed at beginners.
Saturday 9th January, 10.00 - 17.00
In the morning you'll see a demo of throwing a cylinder, and after lunch a bowl demo. You'll spend the rest of the day practising on the wheel yourself.
Sunday 10th January, 10.00 - 17.00
A demo of trimming on the wheel in the morning, then you trim your own pots from Saturday. After lunch, a demo of how to make and attach a handle, and time to add handles to your own pieces.
Sunday 17th January, 10.00 - 14.00
A half-day glazing session. Linda demonstrates glazing, and you glaze your own pots.
Thank you, and happy potting!
