This face-to-face training course is appropriate for anyone who will undertake fire door inspections including safety inspectors, fire risk assessors, building control officers, insurers, fire professionals and facilities managers.

As a Fire door inspector, you need to have a full and comprehensive understanding of your role, and a good appreciation of the current standards to achieve competence.

The course is delivered in modules and covers fire door regulations, fire door testing requirements, fire door testing and evidence of fire door performance.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the laws, regulations and standards that affect fire doors
  • You will be able to recognise the importance and role of fire doors
  • Describe what fire doors are made from and explain how they work
  • Recall how to find and use certificate data sheets and apply this knowledge in a practical scenario
  • Explain what fire door ratings and configurations are
  • You will be able to plan a fire door inspection job
  • You will be able to inspect a fire door
  • Describe what to do post-inspection and hand to the client

Upon Completion
There is an assessment on completion of the training. After passing the assessment, you will receive a certificate of achievement which proves your competency as a fire door inspector.

You can then inspect and sign off fire doors. The certificate is valid for 3 years from the date of passing the assessment.
