🌟 Course Overview:
This comprehensive online two-day training is thoughtfully designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and skills needed to conduct thorough ADHD assessments within a neuroaffirmative framework. The training covers a wide range of topics, including understanding ADHD and its neurobiology, differential diagnoses and co-occurring conditions, applying NICE guidelines and current diagnostic criteria, and utilising tools such as the DIVA and ACE, and screening tools. It also provides guidance on post-diagnostic recommendations to ensure holistic support for clients. Delivered in an engaging, interactive format, the training features video recordings of actual assessment sessions with Dr Reinikis, breakout room activities for collaborative learning, and a strong emphasis on recognising and building upon clients’ strengths while respectfully addressing their unique challenges.
🌟 Unique Insight:
With over 20 years of experience in neurodevelopmental services across both the NHS and independent sectors, alongside my personal journey of being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, I have designed this training to highlight the importance of strengths-based assessments that align with clients' lived experiences of ADHD. Equally, the training emphasises the need to ensure that our assessments and diagnoses consistently meet the required NICE guidelines and diagnostic criteria. The insights and contributions of service users have been invaluable in shaping and refining this approach, leading to consistently positive feedback on the assessment process. To further enhance learning, the training includes a video interview with a female client, recorded during an assessment, providing valuable insights into her perspective.
🌟 Who Should Attend:
This course is aimed at Qualified Mental Health Professionals, as outlined in the NICE guidelines, who are eligible to assess and diagnose ADHD. Attendees should adhere to the standards set by their respective professional bodies and have several years of experience working clinically with children and adolescents, as this expertise is a key requirement for conducting ADHD assessments.
🌟 Training Schedule:
Day 1: 9:30-3:30pm
Day 2: 9:30-3:30pm
Full attendance is required for both days of the training to ensure that all participants gain the complete benefit of the course material and discussions. The training sessions will be recorded, and you will have access to the recordings for one month following the course.
