Details

The β€˜Introduction to Self-Harm’ workshop (2 hours) is for individuals aged 18 and above who want to develop their awareness, knowledge, and understanding of self-harm behaviour. This non-clinical course covers the following elements:

  • personal attitudes, concerns, and questions related to self-harm
  • emotional factors and underlying causes that may contribute to self-harming behaviours
  • effective and ineffective approaches to supporting individuals who engage in self-harm
  • providing initial support and directing individuals to appropriate services.

Instructions

 Time: The workshop lasts 2 hours, with a 10-minute refreshment break.

 Delivery is via online. The Facilitator will present the training slides, and supporting documentation will be forwarded after the workshop.

 Technical requirements: For optimal access to the workshop, it is recommended that all participants use a Laptop/PC/Mac with a camera and microphones.

 Log-in details will be provided prior to the workshop.

For safety reasons, it is required that all participants remain visible throughout the workshop; i.e., cameras must be turned on. This will be advised and reiterated by the Facilitator at the beginning and throughout the workshop.
