The EPFL Data Champions community is pleased to invite you to its traditional Lunch Talks. The next session will take place on September 7th from 12:30pm to 2pm in CM 1 120 on the topic "AI and research data, a new synergy".

After a short introduction by Chiara Gabella, Head of Research Data Management Team at EPFL Library, you will have the chance to hear the following talks:

  • “Open-source, models and data in neuroscience” by Alexander Mathis, Assistant Professor, Head of the Mathis Group, Computational Neuroscience & AI of EPFL

  • "FAIR Deployment of AI models" by Simon Durr, PhD Student EPFL Chemistry, HuggingFace Fellow and EPFL Data Champion

  • "Real examples in which the work of researchers can be improved thanks to ML/AI, daily experience at SDSC" by Roberto Castello, Data Scientist at SDSC, and EPFL Data Champion

  • "Ethical compliance requirements relevant to the use of ML/AI tools for processing research data, with special focus on personal data" by Gaia Barazzetti, Research Ethics Compliance Officer at EPFL Research Office

After the talks, you will have the opportunity to ask your questions to the speakers during an open networking moment.

To conclude the event, Chiara Gabella, Francesco Varrato (EPFL RDM Team) and Noémie Mazaré (EPFL Open Science Unit) will moderate discussions on community overhaul proposals for Data Champions.

The event is open to everyone interested.
