Welcome to the Shamanic Drum birthing workshop with myself (Iona) and Sharron @Quantum Healing Sound Chamber, Dunfermline
• Spaces are limited to 12 people
• To secure your spot, the deposit of £100 must be paid in full, allowing me to prepare everything for the workshop.
• The remaining payment of £150 can be paid by card on the day. I prefer card payment as I will have the card reader with me, but can also accept cash if needed. If paying by cash please have the exact amount of money as I will not have any change.
• We will aim to finish between 6pm - 7pm. However, please allow some buffer time until 8pm at the latest
CANCELATIONS:
• To be eligible for a deposit refund, please contact me at least 7 days before the workshop. Adequate notice is essential to allow sufficient time to offer your space to another participant. If an unforeseen circumstance arises that is beyond your control, please inform me as soon as possible.
SHAMANIC DRUMMING
Shamanic drumming, as distinguished from other types of drumming, usually refers to the use of sustained, repetitive drumming rhythms. Shamanic drumming uses a repetitive rhythm that begins slowly and then gradually builds in intensity to a tempo of three to seven beats per second. The ascending tempo will induce light to deep trance states, and facilitate the shamanic techniques of journeying, shapeshifting, and divination. Ever since our ancestors beat on hollowed-out logs and stretched animal skins over wooden hoops, these instruments have been a major part of cultures. From the Sami to the Siberian shamans the drumbeat has led us into song, dance, and journeys through the worlds.
Drumming is beneficial for:
Self-expression, deeper self-awareness, your mental, physical, and emotional health, spiritual growth, and insight, ringing the community together, bringing deep joy to your heart
IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO READ BELOW:
• Please plan to arrive between 9:00 and 9:30 AM. The latest permitted arrival time is 09:30am, guests arriving after this time will not be able to participate in the workshop. We kindly request your punctuality, as the scheduled times are essential to the smooth running of the program. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to arriving on time
• Please bring packed lunch for yourself. Some snacks, teas and coffees will be provided. Unfortunately we are not able to cater for everyone's food intolerances and various diets, so have something ready made for yourself.
WHAT IS INCLUDED:
• A shamanic journey to connect with the spirit of the animal and the tree used to create your drum.
• A fully guided Shamanic drum workshop
• Drum beater
• Drum card which explains how to care for your drum and what was customised
• A quick blessing ceremony at the end
Please bear in mind that photographs and short videos will be taken during the day. As this is the first workshop we are hosting in the Fife area, it would be wonderful to have some promotional material for future events.
