BARNSLEY HOSPITAL LAPAROSCOPIC SKILLS COURSE

The aim of this course is to offer FY2s & Core Trainees
• An understanding of how laparoscopic stacks work and how lap kits’ shape fit their function
• Appreciate theatre style communication skills
• Gain and practice basic laparoscopic hand-eye coordination skills
• Develop an understanding of lap sutures and practice basic suturing technique
• Appreciate basic tissue stapling and anastomotic techniques
• Practice common general surgery operations on models (appendicectomy & cholecystectomy)
