Stitch Date Night: Patchwork Hearts! - Ages 17 and up - For All Levels

Stitch up something sweet this Valentine’s Day! In this hands-on class, Jana will teach you how to create a patchwork heart and applique it onto an item you bring from home—think lightweight jackets, tote bags, pillow covers, or anything that could use a little love. This class is beginner-friendly and all about mixing fabrics, playing with color, and adding a handmade touch to something you already own. Bring a partner, a bestie, or come solo and create a crafty Valentine all for yourself!

This class is open to all levels, but it is recommended that at least one of your group has used a sewing machine before. We can have the machine threaded and ready to go, so you can go right into the project. Supply List:

• An item you'd like to attach your patch onto! Make sure it is made from light-midweight woven fabric (no stretch) and large enough to get under the machine in a single layer. I recommend a bag that is at least 12" wide or an item that can be laid flat open, like a button down or jacket. It will be very hard to do this on a sleeve or pant leg unless they are very, very wide!
• Sewing machine in working condition with all necessary accessories (if you need to borrow a machine for no extra charge, please email beehiveclasses@gmail.com to let us know!)

Following items will be provided and available to use in the classroom, but feel free to bring your own:

• Scrap fabrics! You can bring your own if you have a color palette in mind or choose from our classroom scraps. Small pieces must be at least 2.5" square and large pieces must be 5" square.
• 1/4 yd Lightweight fusible interfacing
• Coordinating thread
• Cutting tools
• Removable marking pen

This class begins after store closing time at 5pm. The sign will say closed, but the door will be opened for students only at 5:30pm. Feel free to arrive prior to class start time at 6pm to look around and choose your fabrics! Your instructor will be able to ring you up at the end of class if you'd like to buy any items.

CLASS POLICIES
o Your spot will not be reserved in the class until payment is made in full.
o All students or their Parents/Guardians must sign a waiver before participating in class activities. This should be provided as a check box in your checkout process.
o This class has a 3 person minimum. Class may be cancelled if minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class.
o Beehive Craft Studio reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
If we do so, you'll be issued a full refund.
o Inclement Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that weather would make traveling to class dangerous. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o No refunds for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of workshop. Refunds will be processed online within 48 hours of cancellation with the funds going back to your method of payment.
o Everyone works at different speeds and while we expect everyone to finish by the end of the workshop we can't guarantee it!
