Rework Your Jeans: Side Flare! - Ages 16 and up - For Beginners

If you have denim in your closet that you no longer wear because you don't love the shape, this class is for you. We’ll go through simple techniques to breathe new life into your old jeans and make them something you want to wear again! In this class, we'll learn how to add inserts to the side seams of your denim. You can convert your skinny jeans into wide-leg jeans, wide-leg jeans into boot cut jeans, or whatever your heart desires!

This class is beginner friendly, recommended ages 16+. Students should come with basic knowledge of how to use their sewing machines and be able to sew a straight stitch.

Supplies:

• Sewing machine with power cord, foot control, and standard accessories (or let us know if you'd like to borrow one from Beehive)
• A pair of old denim jeans (any style or condition)
• Universal thread in coordinating or contrasting color
• Denim needle size 100/16 or Universal Needle size 90/14 or 100/16

Provided Supplies:

• A selection of vintage quilt scraps and other fabric for the wide-leg inserts

Teacher: Heather Olson is a passionate seamstress, mender and upcycler. She began her business, Wear Trash, in 2022 with the intention of teaching folks how to creatively reuse the abundance of textiles that already exist and divert them from the landfill. Heather is an advocate for low waste living, intentional consumption, and creative, playful expression through the art of sewing 🌍 🎨 🧵

o Your spot will not be reserved in the class until payment is made in full.
o All students or their Parents/Guardians must sign a waiver before participating in class activities. This should be provided as a check box in your checkout process.
o This class has a 3 person minimum. Class may be cancelled if minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class.
o Beehive Craft Studio reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
If we do so, you'll be issued a full refund.
o Inclement Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that weather would make traveling to class dangerous. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o No refunds for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of workshop. Refunds will be processed online within 48 hours of cancellation with the funds going back to your method of payment.
