During the workshop you will learn how to control your breath and slow it down. This can help to lower blood pressure and reduce tension. It will also help to navigate feelings of overwhelm and stress.
You will have an understanding of being in the moment and present. You will learn how to let go of thoughts and come to a place of acceptance. No longer trying to control or fix situations.
There will be tips for bedtime, and how to reset body clocks with diet and exercise tips.
These 90 minute classes give time for a long relaxation practice.
This workshop is part of BPT's Ageing Well project.
All people over 50 are welcome; for all levels and abilities.
About the teacher: Lisa Askem has been teaching yoga and mindfulness for over 30 years in South London. Mother of two grown up children, she knows what it feels like to manage parenting, working and life challenges whilst constantly making the effort it takes to enjoy life. Light hearted and with a lot of experience of working within communities she genuinely believes that a healthy community is one that works together.
