Who should attend this course?

You should attend this course if you work with children and young people and wish to develop critical thinking and imaginative play experiences and positive risk taking in play.

This course is ideal for:

Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Nursery Workers, Carer’s and Childminders, Youth/Activity workers, leaders, after school workers and volunteers Sports coaches and teachers Church/religious leaders and volunteers.

Play is critical to a child’s development and the Scottish Government recognises the importance of unstructured free playtime for children. You will learn how loose parts play will improve children’s play experiences and provides them with the opportunity to explore new types of play.

You will gain knowledge of how introducing loose parts play will support children to be involved in collaboration, sharing thinking, problem-solving and decision-making and improves children’s health and wellbeing which gives children opportunities for better play experiences.
