How can we recognize and respond to communication patterns that may unintentionally reinforce power imbalances? This interactive session examines common forms of gender-biased communication that can affect collaboration, participation, and inclusion in learning and working environments. Participants will learn to identify these patterns, explore their impact on daily interactions, and develop constructive strategies for responding to them. Drawing on examples relevant to EPFL’s missions of research, teaching, and learning, the session considers these dynamics through the broader lens of power and communication, extending beyond strictly gender-based interpretations. It provides practical tools for fostering more respectful, inclusive, and effective interactions across the EPFL community.
This session engages the audience through live electronic polling, so please have your phone ready.
