What You’ll Learn
Over four weeks, Master Hand Tool Woodworking will take you on a journey through making traditional furniture by hand. This full-time woodworking course is designed for anyone who wants to develop skill, precision, and sensitivity with hand tools. Each project builds on the last, helping you gain confidence and control as you learn.
Start with the essentials
We begin with the foundations: how to hold, sharpen, and maintain your saws, planes, and chisels so they cut cleanly and accurately. You’ll practise fundamental techniques that form the backbone of all fine woodworking.
Your course project is a dovetailed cabinet with a drawer, and a panelled door.
Nivel: Beginner, Intermediate
We provide all the tools and equipment that you will use during the class.
You are welcome to bring your tools if you prefer.
If you need glasses to read, you will certainly need them for the course. It may be worth talking to your optician to check what prescription you need for woodworking; the typical working distance is about 400 to 500mm.
