Join Hannah for a Rider Biomechanics clinic, where we'll be focusing on improving the rider position to help your lateral work; such as turn on the forehand, leg yield, shoulder in, travers, renvers and half pass! We'll be looking at everything lateral work; how it benefits the horses way of going and how the riders position may influence the horses movement.
Why is lateral work important? Lateral work is a great way to improve flexibility, strength and symmetry for horses, engaging the hind leg, improving core strength and topline, better body awareness, balance and co-ordination, greater responsiveness to aids, improved focus during ridden sessions. Lateral work is beneficial for all disciplines and ability levels.
Hannah uses different styles of biomechanics coaching including Franklin Method, Train Your Seat and Biomechanics Education, with assessments both on and off the horse. Hannah is also a level 3 personal trainer and riding coach, who brings a wealth of knowledge to help riders of all levels.
Some of the issues commonly seen in riders during lateral work (which Hannah can help with) include:
There are 2 session types available:
1) A paired 45 minute session (join with a friend or I can pair you). In this mounted session; Hannah will assess you on the horse and teach you how to feel these things for yourself. We will then make some corrections and reassess at the end of the session, with a discussion on what to work on at home. £42.50 per person, including arena hire
2) A private 45 minute session. In this mounted session; Hannah will assess you on the horse and teach you how to feel these things for yourself. We will then make some corrections and reassess at the end of the session, with a discussion on what to work on at home. £60 per person, including arena hire
Times will be provided via email at least 48 hours before the clinic. Please indicate your preferred times and any timing restrictions, on the booking form.
WHAT TO WEAR
🐎 Please come in your usual riding gear, including your riding hat which should be up to current standards, sturdy footwear and any other safety equipment you’d usually wear, such as a body protector.
Your clothing should not restrict your movement, as we will be looking to increase your current range of movement in the saddle.
WHAT TO BRING
You don’t need to bring anything special, just yourself and your horse, with your usual tack and riding gear. Smiles encouraged 😊
If you are having a full assessment, please bring a helper to hold your horse for any unmounted assessments.
WHAT TO EXPECT
🤩 The venue has a lovely 60x20m luxurious indoor school, keeping us safe from the elements.
🐴 Each session will be tailored to your individual needs. You will not be expected to do anything beyond your abilities, this clinic is all about improving your position and effectiveness.
We may use Franklin Balls and Franklin Method techniques including exercises, movement, equipment, imagery, self-awareness and feel. I will be there to help and guide you, answer any questions and ensure both you & your horse have a good time.
🛍️ We may use Franklin Balls within the session and I will have a limited stock with me, which are available to purchase on the day. I always keep a stock should you want to purchase anything in the future.
