Bioblitz: Sturt Farm Bioblitz and Riverfly Survey

Datos

8.00am: Night-flyers
Join Haslemere Biodiversity at Sturt Farm SANG to record the moths living in this green
space. A UV moth trap will be run overnight on 4 July, and we hope to attract a wide variety
of local moth species. Experts will be available to help identify the moths, and your
observations will contribute valuable data for the site.
9.00am: Mammal Detectives
Help us investigate which mammals are living in the hedges and scrub around the SANG,
with footprint traps to support our detective work.
10.00am–10.45am: Guided Nature Walk around Sturt Farm SANG
Discover the insects, plants and other wildlife that make their home in this green space.
11.00am–12.00pm: Riverfly Survey at Weydown Car Park
Join us at the stream next to Weydown car park to learn about the waterflies that live in the
River Wey and why they are important “canaries of the river” for detecting pollution. You can
also find out how to get involved with Water Rangers and help monitor the River Wey.
