Join us for a relaxed festive pottery workshop and hand-build your own ceramic Christmas tea light house.
We'll guide you through building your house from clay, adding windows, doors, textures and festive details before decorating it with underglazes.
No previous pottery experience is needed. We'll dry, fire and finish your piece after the workshop, ready for collection from the studio.
All clay, materials, tuition, decoration and firing are included.
Attendee information
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before the workshop starts so we can get everyone settled and ready to begin.
You don’t need to bring any materials with you — all clay, tools and decorating materials are provided.
Please wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting clay on and closed-toe shoes. Aprons are available in the studio. If you have long hair, please tie it back, and we recommend keeping nails fairly short when working with clay.
Your finished tea light house will stay with us after the workshop so it can dry slowly and be fired in our kilns. Pieces are usually ready for collection approximately 3–4 weeks later, and we’ll email you when yours is ready.
Please note that ceramics can occasionally crack or be damaged during drying or firing. We take great care with every piece, but this is an inherent part of the ceramic process.
The studio itself is accessible, although the toilet is located elsewhere on site and has a step.
If you have any accessibility requirements, allergies or anything else you’d like us to know before your visit, please get in touch ahead of the session.
For safety, we recommend using an LED tea light only inside your finished ceramic house.
