Hollow Form Ring and Pendant Course

Create lightweight, sculptural jewellery in silver using hollow form techniques – design and make both a statement ring and pendant in this hands-on course.

Our Hollow Form Ring and Pendant Course teaches you how to make bold, chunky jewellery that looks substantial but feels comfortable and light to wear. Using hollow form construction techniques, you’ll build forms from sheet silver – perfect for creating expressive, statement pieces without the weight of solid metal.

This is a highly practical class where you’ll develop confidence in forming, soldering, and finishing while refining precision and design control.

What Will I Make During the Course?

You’ll complete two finished pieces of jewellery:

1. Hollow Form Ring – A chunky D-section silver domed ring, created from two sheets of silver and optionally set with a gemstone.

2. Hollow Form Pendant – Lightweight and decorated with surface pattern. In this project the hollow forms are created using a hydraulic press and interchangeable dies, offering multiple shape possibilities.

Throughout both projects, you’ll be guided through forming, soldering, texturing and finishing techniques learning the professional workflow behind hollow construction.

Course fees include solder and saw blades. Metals, findings and a variety of stones are available for purchase at the school.
