Course Overview:
The QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals who are appointed as workplace first aiders or who require comprehensive first aid training as part of their role.

This course has been developed in line with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 (and Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982), helping employers meet their legal responsibilities by ensuring qualified first aid provision in the workplace.

Delivered by our experienced instructor, the course combines practical skills with essential theoretical knowledge, preparing learners to respond confidently and effectively to a wide range of workplace medical emergencies.

What You'll Learn

Throughout the course, learners will develop the knowledge and practical skills to:

• Understand the responsibilities of a workplace first aider.
• Assess emergency situations safely and effectively.
• Provide CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
• Manage an unconscious casualty.
• Respond to choking incidents.
• Control severe bleeding and treat shock.
• Recognise and manage heart attacks and strokes.
• Treat burns, scalds and eye injuries.
• Manage fractures, sprains and soft tissue injuries.
• Respond to seizures, diabetic emergencies and asthma attacks.
• Record and report first aid incidents correctly.

This qualification is suitable for:

• Designated workplace first aiders.

• Entry Requirements

To enrol on this course, learners must:

• Be 16 years of age or older.
• Have a sufficient level of English to understand the course content and complete the assessments.
• Be physically capable of performing practical first aid skills, including delivering CPR to a casualty on the floor.

Learners will be assessed through:

• Practical demonstrations of first aid skills.
• Ongoing observation by the instructor.
• Written and practical assessments in accordance with QNUK requirements.

Certification:
Successful learners will receive the QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) certificate.

Following successful completion, learners may progress to:

• QNUK Level 3 Award in Responding to Incidents with an AED (RQF)
• QNUK Level 3 Award for the First Person on Scene (International) (RQF)
• QNUK Level 3 Award in Rescue Trauma and Casualty Care (RTACC) (RQF)
