This Stay and Play Nature group for preschool aged explorers - 0yrs - 5yrs
Outdoor Nature Exploration Stay and Play for 0-5-Year-Olds
We're always on the lookout for wildlife, engaging in bug hunts for worms, beetles, and snails; listening for birds; and seeking signs of the animals we share our spaces with.
Our sessions are informal and revolve around allowing the children to lead their exploration, as we believe this is the most effective way for them to learn. We incorporate weekly themes, linking them with crafts and stories. Additionally, we provide spotting/nature ID sheets and magnifying glasses so they can observe the natural world up close and nurture their natural curiosity. However, if they simply wish to splash in a muddy puddle, that's perfectly fine too—it's an important way for them to learn about the world around them.
This site has mud kitchen equipment, a reading nook, a hammock and lots of exploring equipment. The basecamp is located by the Ravensbourne river, offering families the opportunity to explore the amazing wildlife that lives along one of the Thames' tributaries.
Please note that although we are flexible around ages these sessions are probably better suited to children who are able to walk
Nivel: Parent and toddler, Preschooler
We take a very Scandinavian approach to weather and play outdoors all year round, in all weather. Please make sure children and adults are dressed appropriately, with waterproofs and wellies when needed.
