We're going aboard Cecilia again for a jaunt up the canal!
Community narrowboat ‘Cecilia’ is owned by the Worcester, Birmingham & Droitwich Canals Society and run by a group of enthusiastic volunteers. Our aim is to offer trips to groups of people who would not normally have the opportunity of experiencing the local inland waterways.
‘Cecilia’ is fitted out as a day boat with ample room for up to 12 passengers, supported by our volunteer crew. As such only book for essential passengers in your party- Please cancel if you are unable to attend
Life jackets will be required if you go out on to deck.
You can bring snacks to enjoy as we travel along the waterway for a round trip AM- to Tardebigge PM- Hopwood (or vice versa, depending on what way we are facing when we arrive!)
Depart and return from Alvechurch.
Please arrive on time as the boat must run to schedule- if late we will leave without you.
There will not be chance to disembark the boat but there are limited facilities on board.
As heading from Alvechurch you see the railway station on the left, come over the railway bridge and you'll see a gateway set back a bit on the right before you go over the canal bridge, you'll be able to see the barge from the bridge. Go through the gate and walk over to the barge. Parking at the marina is a minutes walk.
if you get to the weighbridge you'll have gone over the canal bridge.
