The Art of Burlesque - Solo Act Development Course

Got an idea for a burlesque act but no idea how to turn it into something you can actually take to the stage?

This course takes you from “I have an idea…” to “This is my act.”

Over the course, you’ll develop your very own solo burlesque act from scratch and have the chance to perform it at our student showcase on Saturday 13th March 2027.

The showcase is movie themed, so all acts should be in line with this.

You’ll leave with:

• A fully developed solo act with a clear concept and point of view
• A stronger understanding of musicality and how to make your movement work with the music
• Costume ideas that support your act, plus guidance on creating them
• Choreography that suits you, your body and your character
• Practical stage skills to help you command the room
• A chance to test, refine and really nail down your act before performing it

We’ll work through the whole process together, from those first sparks of an idea through to the details that make an act feel finished and stage-ready.

This course also includes a full dress rehearsal on Wednesday 24th February, 6-9pm.

Who’s it for?
All levels are welcome, as long as you have some prior burlesque experience. You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed act...just come with an idea, a starting point, or even a blank page.

Course price: £150
You can secure your place with a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due by 6th January 2027.
