In this course we will dive into documentary film and how it differs from narrative film in it's form of storytelling. Students will work in a small group to research, film and edit a short documentary film; exploring a local story or relevant topic.
This class is meant as a continuation of learning for intermediate and advanced level students. It is recommended that students have completed our Intro to Filmmaking course, or have equivalent experience with filmmaking before taking this class. If you haven't taken a class with us before, please reach out and make sure this is a good fit for your student before registering.
This class occurs weekly on Wednesdays from September 16 to January 13, with the following weeks off for holidays:
1 or 2 Friday or Saturday filming days will be included and required as well.
Additional editing opportunities will be available on Fridays after filming is complete from 2pm to 5pm.
