Waacking Workshop: Sunday 10th May, 1.30-3pm
Whacking/Waacking is a style that was introduced in the underground clubs in Los Angeles by gay black & Hispanic men during the 70’s disco era. Its distinctive highlights include arms technique, posing, attitude and self-expression. The workshop is an introduction to the style’s fundamentals, as well as understanding its history and elements. It also gives you the freedom to fully express yourself on the dance floor through freestyle and/or choreography! Bring your best glitter/sparkles outfits and let’s have a disco party!
Voguing Workshop: Sunday 10th May, 3.15-4.45pm
Step into the world of Voguing with this empowering, adult-focused workshop led by Shakeel Kimotho, a space to explore confidence, expression, and performance in a supportive, no-pressure environment. Rooted in the iconic ballroom culture of 1980s New York, voguing is a bold and expressive dance style built on striking poses, fluid transitions, and storytelling through movement. In this workshop, Shakeel will guide you through the foundations of vogue including: hands, catwalk, dips, and performance quality, while encouraging you to connect with your own unique style. This workshop focuses on stepping out of your comfort zone, building confidence, and embracing your individuality in a welcoming, inclusive space. All are welcome, whether you're completely new to this dance style or looking to build upon your current experience.

Comfortable clothing, socks or suitable dance shoes. Please bring your own water bottle.

PARKING: Free Evening and Weekend Parking is available in the complex. Monday – Friday 9-5pm – We have a limited number of permit passes. Please check beforehand if these will be available for use. Free On Street Parking is available for 4hrs on Cherry Row and there is also reasonably priced on street parking on Macaulay Street and Mabgate, operated via an app called ‘Ring Go’ (no cash payments). To DSL: Route 42 – Direction ‘Fearnville’ Stop Number 450 10293 (This bus stop is located across the road from the Mill complex on Lincoln Green Road).
