This is a purely throwing course for those looking to hone their skills on the wheel in a small group of students. Although these courses are aimed at developing beginner’s skills, people of all abilities are welcome to join.
During the first few weeks you will be guided through a series of exercises. You will learn how to throw cylinders evenly and efficiently, throw and turn footed bowls, plates and lidded vessels. You will be introduced to techniques of repetition throwing, pulling handles and lips. Your teacher will also give an introduction to glazing and surface decoration.
In the later sessions, you will have time to work on your own projects and ask specific questions relevant to your development. There will be the opportunity to glaze your work for collection, or if in the last weeks you would prefer to continue practising at the wheel you are welcome to do so, at this point we could bisque fire your pieces for collection.
Taking place on Saturday mornings, 10am-1pm, at our Copeland Park studio in Peckham. The course cost is £350 & there will be a maximum of 8 students in a class creating more contact time. This course will be led by Eva, in the event of illness or annual leave, one of our other experienced teachers would lead the session in her place.
All 8-week course participants have booking access to optional drop-in sessions, offering additional studio time outside class hours - ideal for those who would like extra practice without committing to full membership.
If you miss a class or arrive late, we are unable to reschedule sessions or provide alternative studio time, as courses run at fixed times to cover the cost of tuition.
Refunds:
Cancellations made 20 days or more before the start date receive a full refund (minus a £5 booking fee). Between 20 and 10 days before the start date, 50% of fees will be refunded (minus booking fee). No refunds are available within 9 days of the start date or once the course has begun.

Unit 3 is opposite the bar 'SOCIAL' and has a mural on the wall outside. There are 2 entrances and the teaching space is the far entrance to the right when you arrive, but we'll have signage directing you.

The studio is 200 meters from Peckham Rye station. As well as the Overground it’s only 11 minutes from London Bridge or 12 minutes from Victoria by train.
There are also plenty of bus routes: 12, 37, 63, 78, 197, 343, 363, N63, N343, P12 and P13.
