Dealing with Disobedience
Session 4 of 5 bite-sized workshops focusing on key parenting challenges during your child's early years.
It is always difficult for parents when their children won't do as they they are told. While it is possible to prevent some problems, it is important to develop a plan for dealing with disobedience if it happens, and follow through to make sure children do what they've been asked to do. If your child learns they can simply ignore your instructions, or put up a protest to make you back down, they will not learn to cooperate, help or contribute. While it is natural for children to test their limits, they also need to learn to follow instructions. This is an invitation for us to explore this together.
This 2-hour discussion group can be taken as a stand-alone session or as part of an integrated series. The group will be facilitated by an accredited Triple P practitioner and will include discussion of positive parenting strategies, active skills training, problem solving and developing a personalised parenting plan.
The session will involve following a Powerpoint presentation and a booklet; group discussion will also take place. It is therefore advised you do not bring your child(ren) to assist with maximizing the learning opportunity.
