Forensics in Policing 2025

During the evening event we will be giving presentations and providing information about the wide variety of roles within Regional Scientific Support Services. We will provide you with information about the recruitment process and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet current employees in various roles and departments.

Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) is committed to improving the diversity of its workforce to better reflect the diverse communities we serve. RSSS provide service to four police forces across the region, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Humberside. It is one of the largest and most advanced police forensic units within the UK. In combination with Digital Forensics Unit the department employs over 600 people in a variety of roles. We also work closely with Eurofins, the forensic service provider for RSSS.

RSSS is made up of civilian police staff, there is no requirement to be a police officer and we offer a variety of flexible working options including part time. Our main headquarters and laboratories are based in Wakefield, but CSI’s and Forensic Collision Investigators are based at various locations throughout the whole region.
