Datos

An invitation to embody your inner world through a creative, playful exploration of IFS + Movement Medicine

We are each a constellation of many parts- inner characters that carry our stories, protect our hearts, and hold the seeds of our creativity and power. Some parts move freely in the light; others hide in shadow, guarding old pain or forgotten dreams.

In this immersive workshop, we will explore the meeting place between Movement Medicine and Internal Family Systems (IFS) - a rich, embodied field where psyche, body, and soul can dance and play together. Through this weave, we bring the imaginal to life: exploring our inner world through movement, creativity, voice, art, and ritual.

Rather than analysing our parts, we will make space for them + bring them to life inviting them to dance, speak, express, and be seen - to be met with curiosity and compassion.

Through playful, embodied enquiry, we will explore their good intentions, their stories, and where they live in our body-mind, discovering how each one contributes to the ecology of our being.

As we move, we awaken what IFS calls Self + what Movement Medicine calls the Dancer - the spacious, loving presence capable of holding all parts with love and understanding. From this embodied presence, we can weave our way to wholeness.

What to Expect

Over the course of our time together, we will:

  • Explore the principles of Internal Family Systems through movement, creative exploration, and embodied ritual.
  • Bring our inner parts to life through improvised movement, imagery, voice, and play - allowing their wisdom and vitality to emerge.
  • Engage in guided journeys, dance, movement meditations, imagery, writing, and partner + group work to deepen understanding and integration.
  • Awaken the Wise Loving Self / Inner Dancer as a living resource for healing and creative flow.
  • Cultivate connection with the imaginal and elemental realms - the unseen companions that support our growth and transformation.

This is an invitation into deeper authentic expression and embodied presence, an opportunity to discover how our inner landscape moves through us. Through witnessing and being witnessed, we can release or express the burdens our parts carry and become more Self-Led more of the time.

Who This Is For

This workshop is for those who would like to:

  • Deepen their understanding of IFS and the landscape of parts through the body, rather than just the intellect /psyche.
  • Reclaim creativity, play, spontaneity, and joy as pathways to healing.
  • Explore the intersection of movement, psychology, and ritual art as sacred practice.
  • Cultivate embodied Self-energy - the dancer, the witness, the one who can hold it all.

No previous experience of Movement Medicine or IFS is required, only a willingness to be curious and kind with whatever arises.

About the Facilitator

Drawing on her experience as a therapist, facilitator, and lifelong explorer of movement and creative process, Sarah brings together her passion for the meeting point of psyche and soma - where the dance becomes a language of the soul.

This work emerges from years of practice and research in the field of embodied IFS, Movement, Dance, Ritual Theatre and Transpersonal Psychology, rooted in the belief that healing and creativity are inseparable.

Practical Details

This is a closed group of up to 14 participants to ensure depth and intimacy. There are 4 concessionary places available for those experiencing financial hardship please use code IFS20 at check out if you need one of these.

Please note: While Sarah is trained through IFS-UK, this workshop is not an official IFS training and does not count towards certification. Participants may describe themselves as IFS-informed.

A note on the journey

This work honours the sacred, systemic, and transpersonal dimensions of being - recognising that each of us exists within a web of family, community, ancestry, and the natural world. As we move with our inner parts, we also move with the wider systems that shape us - the seen and unseen threads of belonging.

Modalities

For more information about each of the modalities we will be leaning into, engaging with directly or inspired by:

Working in a group

This group offers you a supportive and nurturing environment. Groups can be very potent and have the potential to facilitate and catalyse deep healing for relational wounds and belonging.

Other benefits of being in a group include:

  • Support and Validation: there is an opportunity to share experiences and struggles with others who may be going through similar challenges. This can foster a sense of belonging, solidarity and validation.
  • Diverse perspectives: Groups can expose us to a variety of perspectives. This diversity can offer new insights and alternative ways of approaching life that may not be evident in individual therapy.
  • Communication: Interacting with others in a group can help us develop and refine our communication skills, curiosity, empathy, and assertiveness. You will have the opportunity to practice these attributes in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Feedback and accountability: There will be opportunities to offer feedback, encouragement, and accountability to one another. The idea of Sangha or Kula (sacred community) is to support one another to feel connected, seen and on track with our individual and shared longings, intentions and commitments.

I very much look forward to welcoming you and setting sail on this journey together!
