12 x week course: Wednesdays, 10am - 1pm, 24th June - 9th September

People of all abilities are welcome. While the course is designed to build beginner skills, teaching is tailored to individual experience and confidence.

Classes take place in a studio space designed specifically for teaching these sessions.

Over the first 4–5 weeks you will cover core techniques including wheel-throwing, hand-building, mould work, decorating and glazing. After this, you’ll be encouraged to develop your own projects with guidance from the teacher and the group.

This course will be led by Elza, who developed her ceramics practice from an early passion for collecting into a committed making career. Part of the team since 2018, she brings broad studio experience and a thoughtful approach to teaching.

In the event of illness or annual leave, one of our other experienced teachers would lead the session in her place.

The cost of a 12-week course in Farringdon is £415. Materials, glazing and firing are charged at £5 per kg of finished work (for example, a teacup is approximately £1).

All 12-week course participants have booking access to optional drop-in sessions, offering additional studio time outside class hours - ideal for those who would like extra practice without committing to full membership.

If you miss a class or arrive late, we are unable to reschedule sessions or provide alternative studio time, as courses run at fixed times to cover the cost of tuition.

Refunds:

Cancellations made 20 days or more before the start date receive a full refund (minus a £5 booking fee). Between 20 and 10 days before the start date, 50% of fees will be refunded (minus booking fee). No refunds are available within 9 days of the start date or once the course has begun.
