Workshops for Queer and LGBTQIA adults

Through an artist led programme of workshops called The House That Holds, the Queer Makers Club will create a selection of household interiors and soft furnishings using text and visuals that embody ideas of care and rest. These items will be used to decorate and fit out The Gardener’s Cottage, a building on Forgan Arts Centre’s estate. The Gardener’s Cottage is currently being restored by artists, volunteers and craftspeople and will be used for artists whilst on residence, as well as a retreat for unpaid carers and those in need of respite. The House That Holds workshops will practice “plork”, a concept of play and work developed by American artist and activist Corita Kent. The participants will make multi-media and textiles artworks.

Invited artists Ardis Önnerfors and Leo Valenti will lead the activities, with Ruby Pester.
