A fun filled whittling class for children, to learn the basics of whittling.
Children will do their very own whittling project, making an item from silver birch that they can take away as a memento after the class.
All round a campfire with break in the middle to take part in some fire cooking!

A structured outdoor class based in the grounds of the arts centre for children to learn
beginners whittling around a camp fire. The class will be 2 hours long, and require a
parent or guardian to be present for each child. (Max. of one adult per child please)
Children must be aged 8 years +

The first half of the class will involve basic safety and knife use, followed by 20 minutes
of fire starting and cooking on the fire, then the remaining time completing their own
whittling project sat round the fire with guidance from tutor Kiri Stone.

You will learn how to safely use various knives and hand tools and feel confident in beginner whittling.
Please wear waterproof warm clothing and bring something to sit on, either a waterproof blanket or a camp chair if you are not comfortable on the ground. We will have a minimal amount of coverings at the Centre.
Tea and coffee is available after at the Centre.

Instructions

If travelling by car, please park at Waterstone crook car park and make your way up to the centre. We have limited parking at the Centre which is reserved for blue badge holders and those with limited mobility only.

CANCELLATIONS
Refunds - can be issued up to 2 weeks before classes begin, minus a £10 booking fee.
No refunds can be offered for non-attendance .
If a course is cancelled by the Centre due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be issued with a full /pro- rata refund.

Tea and coffee is available at the Centre. If attending a day long course or workshop, please bring a packed lunch. We do not have a café.
